Stonewall Inn “The Next 50”
For the 50th anniversary of Pride, we saw an opportunity to do more than honor where the movement began. More than 50 years after the Stonewall uprising, LGBTQ+ communities around the world are still waiting for their own Stonewall moment.
As a pro bono side project for The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), we created STONEWALL: THE NEXT 50 — a campaign platform designed to extend Stonewall’s legacy and bring support to communities still fighting for visibility, safety, and equality around the world. We developed the idea, shaped the story, and pitched it directly to SIGBI, selling them on a movement that could make Stonewall bigger than a place.
We then took the cause to media organizations and secured 100 high-profile digital billboards, all donated for free. The campaign grew into a multichannel effort to drive awareness, connection, and support for LGBTQ+ communities everywhere. And when COVID forced the Stonewall Inn to close during Pride, we partnered with Google to map the inside of the bar through Street View, opening its doors virtually to the global community.
Donated media allowed us to run over 100 digital billboards across the US, all for free.
